We select the best Diamonds from the Exchange. We do not work with intermediaries nor sales representatives.
Our mission is to make many sales, applying the narrowest possible margin on each Diamond.
At Balmes, we will always better the price offered by other suppliers. However, it is important to be aware of the tricks that some of them may use.
It’s not uncommon to find stores with seemingly good prices, which, however, take advantage of some of the following tricks:
- They may offer Diamonds with grading or certificates based on manipulated results. Many laboratories use results based on unreal qualities. If you were to attend an unbiased laboratory later on, you would realise you have overpaid. Our Diamonds at Balmes have the best worldwide grading: GIA. If you shop at Balmes, you get the best price and you directly increase your assets.
- They may offer poorly cut Diamonds. There are many suppliers that manage to offer good prices by selling Diamonds graded as poor or fair in relation to their cut, symmetry, or polish. At Balmes, we select only the best Diamonds from the Exchange, and we discard those that do not meet our standards.
- They may offer Diamonds with strong or very strong fluorescence. Another practice to offer good prices is by offering customers Diamonds with a strong fluorescence rating which, therefore, means a lower value. These Diamonds look whiter than they really are, but at the same time they exhibit less transparency and brilliance. They are the so-called “cloudy” Diamonds. At Balmes, we only select Diamonds with little or no fluorescence.
- There are also well-known suppliers who manage to offer high-quality Diamonds at apparently good prices. However, they charge exorbitant prices for a simple gold or platinum setting for your Diamond, or for any other extra you may need. That’s where their money is made.
At Balmes, we obtain only a minimal profit from the sale of Diamonds, offering jewel setting at cost price, and other services always to be found at no cost at all.
You are guaranteed that, at Balmes, you will get the best Diamond at the best price at any given time, and with the best pre-sales and post-sales customer support.
